The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Following the success of the inaugural congress of the Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Society (APGS) in Bali in 2012, it is our great honor and pleasure to organize the 2nd Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Congress (APGC), to be held in conjunction with the 10th International Symposium of Ophthalmology – Hong Kong (APGC-ISOHK 2014 Hong Kong), on September 26-28, 2014.

Asia Pacific Glaucoma Congress is now the only regional Glaucoma meeting. We hope the biennial meeting would bring glaucoma experts around the globe together to discuss, share, debate, and most importantly, to learn from each other. It is the aim of the Asia Pacific Glaucoma Congress (APGC) to promote the highest standards in both diagnosis and care for glaucoma patients in the region.

Under the leadership of Professor Tin Aung, the Scientific Program Committee of the APGC will organize a glaucoma scientific program, covering all aspects of glaucoma diagnosis and management that will be second to none in the region.

Hong Kong is a dramatic city that captivates visitors with its versatility. The unique combination of urban glamour and traditional culture of Hong Kong will offer you a travelling experience that is tailor-made to your liking.

We cordially welcome you to join us in the APGC-ISOHK 2014 Hong Kong and experience this amazing city!

Ivan Goldberg
President, Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Society

On behalf of the Board of the Asia Pacific Glaucoma Society, I welcome you all to the 2014 Asia Pacific Glaucoma Congress, our second conference, this one in the fascinating city of Hong Kong!

Our Organizing Committee, led most ably by Professor Clement Tham has created an optimal environment for knowledge and skill sharing and for social and professional networking. This enables you to take maximal advantage of the excellent Scientific Program assembled by Chair Professor Tin Aung, Co-Chairs Professor Ki Ho Park, Doctors Jimmy Lai and Christopher Leung by incorporating many leaders in glaucoma teaching, research and service not only throughout the Asia Pacific Region, but from around the world.

Our meeting has received strong support from our generous sponsors. Visiting the Industry Exhibition will offer opportunities to refresh your awareness of advances in technologies needed for appropriate diagnosis and treatment. You will find it worthwhile.

Just as our 2012 Inaugural meeting in Bali was highly successful, we are confident the 2014 conference will be effective to meet its goals to enhance glaucoma management throughout our Region and that it will do so in a manner you will find enjoyable and truly memorable.

Please familiarize yourself with our many projects and become involved in whichever you find most interesting. We are a growing and thriving young Society; the speed with which we are able to minimize visual disability from glaucoma depends on how ophthalmologists respond.

Enjoy the meeting and provide us with feedback so future congresses are able to evolve to meet your needs more effectively.
