It is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to the 30th Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress held in conjunction with the 20th Congress of the Chinese Ophthalmological Society in Guangzhou, China, from April 1 – 4, 2015.
Following the success the 25thAPAO-AAO Joint Meeting in Beijing, China, in 2010 that brought together over 10,000 delegates from all over the world and the success of subsequent APAO annual congresses, we are pleased to have the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) co-sponsor the 30th APAO Congress, which will continue to serve as an important platform in the Asia-Pacific region for ophthalmologists and visual scientists to share their expertise, explore noveldiscoveries, and most importantly, forge and renew friendships.
The 30th APAO Congress will be held in Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center, which is located at the foot of Baiyun Mountain. Under the leadership of Prof Dennis Lam, the Scientific Program Committeeis engineering an exciting, first-class scientific program, covering major developments in the various subspecialties. We are anticipating over 1,000 international top-notch speakers and more than 8,000 delegates from all over the world.

Due to pharma code regulations, children and accompanying persons are not permitted in the exhibition area or the session rooms at any time. There is no social programme for accompanying persons and the Congress reception is for registered delegates only.
CLIMATE AND DRESS
The climate in Vienna is temperate and in June it is usually mild and sunny but be prepared for rain and chilly evenings. From June to July the daytime temperature ranges from 14º C to 24º C
We are happy to inform you that the SOE 2015 offers Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for the Congress in Vienna. The number of CME credits that will be assigned to SOE 2015 will be announced on the Congress website prior to the event. Participants will also receive detailed information on how to apply for
CME credits when arriving on site.
CURRENCY AND CREDIT CARD

The official language of the Congress is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.
Local time in Austria during the Congress is Central European Time, which is on hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and six hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST).

CANCELLATION OR MODIFICATION OF THE MEETING DUE TO FORCE MAJEUR
In case of force majeure, SOE2015, has the right to alter or cancel the Meeting without prior notice, however a notice of the occurrence shall be given by SOE2015 as soon as reasonably possible. Force majeure shall mean any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of SOE2015 which prevents or impedes the holding of the Congress, including, but not limited to, government action, war or hostilities, riot or civil commotion, plague or other epidemic such as SARS, bird flu, earthquake, flood, hurricane, cyclone, fire or other natural physical disaster, explosion, accident or breakdown, strike, lack of the usual means of transportation or terrorism. SOE2015 shall not be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental or consequential damages, losses, expenditures or any other inconveniences or costs caused by such modification or cancellation of the Congress. Furthermore, registration fees will not be reimbursed by SOE2015.
The SOE 2015 Congress and Simply Events (UK) Ltd cannot accept liability for injuries or losses of whatever nature incurred by participants nor for loss of or damage to their luggage and/or personal belongings. Please check the validity of your own travel insurance. All reasonable endeavours will be made to hold SOE2015 and to present its program as scheduled under circumstances which assure the comfort and safety of all participants.
